RoadTrip D2 William J. Clinton Presidential Library, Little Rock, AR 克林頓總統圖書館

Day 2, 12/24 Memphis, TN to Dallas, TX

On our way to Dallas, we took the way in Arkansas, a state full of natural sources and park. We don't have time for the wild life this time. So I decided to stop by the William J. Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock to gain some knowledge of history.

Bill Clinton is the 42th president of US from 1993-2001. My only memory about him is his sexual scandal. 也就是傳聞中克林頓"速懶趴"的事件。People here seems concentrate more on what he has done to the country and he & his wife are still pretty active in the politics. If this happened in the conservative Taiwan, he may gone forever.

The library is basically his memorial hall and museum introducing the world history of the 90'. Ticket is 7 dollars, not much, but why a library need ticket? The three-floor building lie on the riverside with beautiful scenery. You can see his Lincoln limousine on the first floor. On the second, was demonstrated the affairs happened in 93-01 and a room decorated exactly the same to his office.

The third floor keeps many of his collection gave by other country of people. I saw the calligraphy from Kim Dae Jung, president of Korea, and bicycle from Lance Armstrong, the greatest road racing cyclist ever. Besides, a room decorated as the white house office was there. But I still can stop thinking Miss Monica Lewinsky..

Anderson and Kathleen,
It's great to see you pictures. It makes it like your travels are our travels. We get to share your life, even though we are separated by many miles. This is really great. Like I said before, my goal is to start a blog this year so we can share our photos, and lives with you.
Former President Bill Clinton's behavior is an embarrisment to the United States. It is unfortunate that we as a people are the laughing stock of the world when things like this happen. I always wonder how other countries view us. What with our president having gone through a sex scandal, people protesting for gay marriage, and other crazy stuff, the world must think we are absolutely crazy. No wonder the people of the US are not viewed well. I'm glad that I am not white American, but brown American (Mexican-American). Traditionally, Mexicans are more conservative. I'm glad you saw some very positive things in the Clinton Library. Oh, the charge to get in. Our public libraries are free. The Clinton library is not a public library, and I imagine the fees are used for upkeep. Our public libraries receive local and state monies to run, ie. the Kern County library system employees are Kern County employees and paid by the County of Kern. The presidential libraries receive money from private donations, fees and things like that.

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!!!
